THEA RUTH LIM MAGALLANES

Senior Associate

Thea earned her Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila University under the corporate and taxation law track. However, her legal career took an unexpected turn when she began practicing in a litigation-heavy, full-service law firm, handling a wide range of civil, criminal, and administrative cases. During this time, Thea developed a strong interest in criminal prosecution and defense, tackling cases involving white-collar crimes such as graft and corruption, money laundering, embezzlement, and corporate fraud. She is also experienced in cases involving property disputes, land titles, marital conflicts, child support, contract disputes, constructive dismissal, intellectual property infringement, and administrative violations. Since 2019, her professional experience and mentors have helped her develop a client-centered advocacy dedicated to exhausting all legal solutions to protect her clients’ interests.

Currently, Thea continues to sharpen her skills as a senior associate in AJA’s litigation department, focusing on trial and appellate practices and dispute resolution. She works closely with associates, mentoring them in building case theories, drafting legal documents, and managing client expectations through a practical, hands-on approach. Occasionally, Thea adopts the Socratic method of teaching, confident in her associates’ knowledge and understanding of the legal system. She is fully committed to helping her associates thrive both professionally and personally. Despite her academic background in corporate and taxation law, Thea enjoys taking an integrated approach to legal problem-solving and derives great satisfaction from helping others.

Outside of the courtroom and office, Thea serves as a life coach in her church. A perpetual learner, she enjoys taking language and theology classes during her free time and swims when the weather is favorable.
