Aira Nikka Montemayor

Aira’s legal journey began with grit and a heart for service. During law school, she balanced rigorous academic demands while working as a Research Assistant at UP Law Legal Aid. She took on the challenge of policy development, drafting guidelines for handling gender-based crimes, and supporting the Office’s Director in legislative hearings. After law school, Aira entered the fast-paced world of corporate law as Assistant Legal Counsel for a corporate conglomerate with sixteen subsidiaries, including cold storage facilities, an engineering firm, and a logistics company. In this role, she managed legal and business affairs, blending legal expertise with strategic business acumen.

At AJA Law, Aira’s practice reflects her versatility, strong work ethic, and dependability. She specializes in corporate transactions, restructuring, corporate governance, due diligence, and ensuring full regulatory compliance. Her expertise includes securing Tax Exemption Endorsements with the Department of Finance and Bangko Sentral Registration Documents for foreign direct investments and private sector foreign loans. Aira is also experienced in brand protection and IP due diligence, helping clients safeguard their intellectual assets and navigate IP compliance and strategy.

Aira represents a diverse array of clients, including a local airline, fintech companies, food and beverage businesses, and gaming corporations. She is particularly skilled in the aviation industry, handling aircraft leasing, importation, operational licensing, and ensuring compliance with aviation authorities.

As part of AJA’s supply chain team, Aira provides strategic insights and practical legal advice, successfully managing complex projects and drafting industry-specific contracts. Beyond commercial transactions, she also handles extrajudicial estate settlements and title transfers, ensuring smooth legal processes. Aira’s legal expertise extends to various areas, including cyberlibel cases, insurance disputes, and complex labor disputes. Recently, she secured a seven-figure settlement in an insurance case for her client.

Aira is also part of the Immigration Team, managing visa applications, addressing overstays, and processing DOLE registrations and Alien Employment Permits.

Outside of her professional life, Aira is a dedicated dog lover who finds joy in spending time with her three poodles. Whether it’s a spirited game of fetch or quiet companionship, her dogs are a constant source of happiness and balance in her busy life. Aira enjoys getting lost in movies and series and values moments of quiet reflection to recharge and thoughtfully navigate her personal and professional journeys.
